Veteran media personality Adesuwa Onyenokwe has opened up about her past encounters with controversial cross-dresser Bobrisky, revealing that he once had a girlfriend.
During a recent appearance on WithChude, a talk show hosted by Chude Jideonwo, Adesuwa shared her insights into Bobrisky’s carefully crafted public persona.
According to her, Bobrisky’s female identity is largely a marketing strategy to boost his brand.
Reflecting on her personal experience interviewing him, Adesuwa painted a picture of Bobrisky that contrasts with the flamboyant image seen on social media.
She recalled a candid moment during their interview, revealing the business-driven motivation behind his persona.
“Bobrisky was recently arrested for something, and when they asked him, ‘Are you a man?’ his response was, ‘I am a man,’” Adesuwa said.
“I didn’t get the impression that he was gay. To me, it seemed clear that what he was doing was purely for money.”
She went on to explain that Bobrisky had developed a skin-bleaching formula, which had become a significant source of his income.
“While I was with him, people were calling from Holland to place orders. His biggest buyers were overseas, paying in euros for his cream. The more he stayed in the public eye, the more people trusted his brand. They believed in him because they could see the results.”
Adesuwa also recounted a story Bobrisky shared about his past relationship, where he visited his girlfriend’s house. “He told me about going to see his girlfriend, and her father being very upset with him. Bobrisky said, ‘Daddy, it’s just work o.’”
Adesua highlighted the challenges of maintaining such a public persona, suggesting that Bobrisky could get “lost in the character he’s created.”
She concluded by warning others about the potential pitfalls of fame, stating, “Whatever you create, it will follow you. If you’re ready for that, then fine. But when the facade crumbles, what did he say? ‘I am a man.’”
