A faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), has released a video showing the execution of a soldier and a policeman.
The two security personnel were abducted last week while travelling from Maiduguri to Monguno.
They were shot dead after introducing themselves in the 49-second video, Premium Times reports.
It was not immediately clear when the video was shot.
However, the slain officers, in the recording, described their abductors as “Tilafa army”.
“My name is Yohanah Kilus, I am policeman, my rank is Inspector, I was abducted between Maiduguri and Monguno; I am presently in the custody of Tilafa soldiers,” one of them said in Hausa.
“I am 13NA/70/8374, Lance Corporal Emmanuel Oscar, I was captured by Tilafas along Maiduguri to Monguno,” the other said.
The video was released three days after suspected Boko Haram fighters killed at least 81 persons in a village in Gubio local government, Borno State.
