An Anglican Church cleric Desmond Yunana based in Borno State says Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau is critically ill and wants prayer from Nigerians.
Yunana said during a sermon on Sunday that he had a “revelation” on Saturday night that Shekau’s health was in bad condition.
According to him, the Boko Haram leader is ready to ask for forgiveness.
He added that Shekau needs prayers from both Christian and Muslim residents of Maiduguri, Borno State capital, which has been subjected to attacks by insurgents over the years.
This is coming one month after a captured teenage fighter Mohammed Adam said Shekau could no longer walk effectively.
Adam, who is currently in custody of the Nigerian Army, said Shekau got injured during an air bombardment on an insurgents’ camp in Tumbuktu, Sambisa forest, a Boko Haram stronghold in Borno State.
