Award-winning filmmaker and producer Bolanle Austen-Peters has marked her 56th birthday with gratitude and a reflection on her journey so far.

Sharing a video on Instagram on Tuesday, the Terra Kulture founder expressed appreciation for her accomplishments and the people in her life.

“Stepping into 56 years of boldly achieving purpose. Blessed, accomplished, and poised… Walking through our garden, I reflected on everything God has done for me and all I can say is ‘THANK YOU LORD’ for making me a Beautiful African Princess (BAP) with the Baddest Amazing Productions (BAP),” she wrote.

Austen-Peters also looked forward to new beginnings, adding, “I am looking up to God Almighty for the journeys ahead of me and thanking all my loved ones for being part of my making.”

Several Nollywood stars, including Joke Silva, Yvonne Jegede, Stan Nze, Adunni Ade and Mercy Aigbe, joined in celebrating her.

A key figure in Nigeria’s arts and entertainment industry, Austen-Peters founded Terra Kulture in 2003, creating a hub for art, theater and culture in Lagos.

A decade later, she launched Bolanle Austen-Peters Productions (BAP), debuting with Saro the Musical, which earned critical acclaim and was later performed in London’s West End.

Her transition to film saw her direct 93 Days (2016), a gripping drama on Nigeria’s fight against Ebola, which received international recognition.

She has since directed The Bling Lagosians (2019), Collision Course (2020) and Man of God (2022), each tackling different aspects of Nigerian society.
