Actor Bolanle Ninalowo has expressed frustration over multiple TikTok accounts impersonating him.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Bolanle shared a clip revealing various TikTok profiles using his name.
The actor who does not have an account on the platform, questioned how he could create a legitimate one when his identity had already been taken.
“Dang! And I am not even on TikTok. How do I now open a REAL account? People dey para ooo!!!” he wrote.
His post sparked reactions from fans and colleagues.

Angela Okorie shared her own experience with impersonation, lamenting how fraudsters had amassed more followers than her on TikTok. “Them don finish their mama dem use my name collect tire, the fake ANGELA OKORIE on TikTok get followers pass me cos I don’t come on live or post there like that, people are gullibly de follow person wey never enter live before, people are mumuyishly following the account.
“If you enter my name for Facebook ahhhh over 1 million people answering the name, and banks Dey even open bank accounts for them on my name and their face. Banks should get ready o cos I will fish every one of them out and they will pay for all the scam they have been scamming my fans.”
Aisha Lawal joined in, jokingly commenting, “Na only you waka come.”
Celebrity impersonation on social media has become a growing concern.
A few months ago, Yoruba actress Bimpe Akintunde cursed an impersonator for using her name and image to defraud people, questioning how the country could progress with such fraudulent activities.
Similarly, singer Peter Okoye of PSquare had raised alarm over scammers using his identity to exploit unsuspecting fans.
Responding to a social media user who solicited N500,000, Mr. P attributed the rise in internet fraud to such online begging.
