Controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been released from Kirikiri correctional facility in Lagos.

The online personality was released on Monday morning after serving jail term for abuse of the naira.

Several footages of him in a vehicle with actress Eniola Ajao and another woman have been shared multiple times on social media.

“I’ve missed you guys. I can’t wait to give you guys what you have missed,” Bobrisky said, looking glamorous.

Actress Moyo Lawal, who was also among those to receive Bobrisky, described him as “bestie”.

The crossdresser was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on March 24 for spraying naira notes at the premiere of Ajakaju: Beast of Two Worlds, produced by Eniola Ajao. Bobrisky was awarded ‘best dressed female’ at the premiere, sparking outrage in the industry.

He was arraigned at the Lagos State High Court on a four-count charge.

On April 12, Justice Abimbola Awogboro sentenced Bobrisky, who calls himself mummy of Lagos, to six months in prison.

The judge also ruled that the sentence was without the option of a fine. Justice Awogboro held that the jail term commenced on the day of his arrest.

In April, the crossdresser filed a notice of appeal challenging the prison sentence.

He had hoped that the Court of Appeal would set aside the sentence and replace it with an option of a N50,000 fine on each count.
