Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State as tested positive for COVID-19, popularly known as coronavirus.
The governor confirmed his test result in a recorded video released on Saturday evening.
“I submitted a sample for the Covid-19 test and the result came in this evening, and I regret to say that it is positive.
“According to the protocols for managing Covid-19, I am in self-isolation as required by the case management guidelines of the NCDC for a someone that is no showing symptoms,” he said.
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State had earlier tested positive for the virus.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday reported that the country has so far recorded 89 confirmed cases of infection with one death.
