Nigerian scriptwriter, director and producer, Paul Emema, has died at the age of 52.
Qed.ng learnt the filmmaker died on Tuesday after a brief illness.
Emema is best known for producing the NTA series Behind the Clouds and Supple Blues.
He also produced the biopic on Reverend Father Tansi starring Jude Orhorha and Francis Onwochei.
Announcing his death on Thursday, Onwochei said in a message seen by Qed.ng that he heard about the death on Wednesday.
“Yesterday, I received a call from Ada his long-time business development officer, I called Mahmood Ali Balogun our mutual friend and we both visited his house last night at Ago Palace Way Okota,” Onwochei wrote.
Emema was a member of the Association of Movie Producers (AMP), Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), Independent Television Practitioners Association of Nigeria (ITPAN) and Advertisers Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) among others.
He is survived by his wife, an 11-year-old son and father said to be over 100 years old.
