Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), days after he dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mr Obaseki announced his defection on Friday on visiting the party’s state secretariat in Benin City, Edo.
In a video shared by the PDP on Twitter, Obaseki made his declaration to all Nigerians “within the state and across the country, to become a member of PDP.”
Obaseki had met some PDP leaders after leaving the APC where he was disqualified from contesting in the party’s governorship primary slated for June 22.
The PDP on Thursday then postponed its Edo governorship primary to June 23, drawing speculations that Obaseki was set to join the party.
