Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has made a petition for the arrest of national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole.
Deputy Governor Philip Shuaibu told reporters in Abuja on Monday that the government had written to the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to seek the ‘immediate’ arrest of Mr Oshiomhole.
Mr Shuaibu added that a copy of the petition would be sent to the Department of State Services (DSS).
Oshiomhole is being accused of holding political rallies in Edo despite a ban by the government to curtail violence.
