The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed the appeal filed by candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in September 2018 governorship election in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
Justice Olabode Rodes-Vivour ruled on Friday in a majority decision of five-to-two that failure of a member of the election tribunal, Justice Peter Obiora, to sit on February 6, 2019 rendered the entire proceedings and the judgement given on March 22 by the tribunal a nullity.
The apex court also affirmed the majority judgement of the Court of Appeal, which upheld the victory of Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the rightfully elected governor of Osun State.
