The Supreme Court on Monday affirmed the election of Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as governor of Bauchi State.
Justice Mohammed Dattijo, who delivered the lead judgement, dismissed the appeal filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mohammed Abubakar, against the outcome of the election.
Justice Sylvester Ngwuta led the seven-member panel which arrived at the unanimous decision.
Justice Dattijo said the evidence of the appellants’ witnesses at the election tribunal was inadmissible.
