The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal on Wednesday ruled that President Muhammadu Buhari was duly elected as the President of the Republic of Nigeria.
Justice Mohammed Garba, leading a five-member panel, ruled that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate in the 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar, failed to prove allegations of irregularities during the election.
“In the final result, and I have come to the conclusion which is inevitable and unavoidable, that the petitioners have not proved any of the grounds of the petition in paragraph 15 of the petition.
“This petition is accordingly and hereby dismissed in its entirety,” Garba said.
He also ruled that parties are to bear their costs.
