Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has lost his first son Kambilinachukwu.
The 16-year-old reportedly collapsed on Wednesday, March 29 while playing football in school.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The boy’s aunt was quoted to have said he read throughout Tuesday night in preparation for his exam on Wednesday. After the exam, he joined his mates to play football and developed a seizure before being rushed to a hospital where was confirmed dead.
This is coming two months after Yul Edochie and his first wife May celebrated their son as he turned 16.
Yul wrote on Instagram, “A very happy 16th birthday to my first son, Kambilinachukwu Leo Yul-Edochie. May God lead and protect you always. With many more happy years. Daddy loves you.”
May, on her part, wrote, “It’s Kambi’s birthday, hurray! My first son, today is not just your regular birthday, it’s your 16th and a very special one. I wish you the very best life has to offer on this marvelous milestone. I want you to realize that you are more mature now and smarter.
“May heaven open and rain blessings and favor upon you to the glory of God. 🙏. You shall be greater than our expectations and no evil shall come near you. Keep making us proud my super son. Keep shining. Love you always.”
In another post, she wrote, “My birthday boy having so much fun. Thank you Lord for your endless blessings.”
Though Kambilinachukwu is the first son, he is the second child of Yul and May in their 18 years of marriage.
Their other children are Danielle, Karl, and Victory Edochie.
The deceased is the grandson of Nollywood legend Pete Edochie.
Last year, Yul took a second wife named Judy, an actress. They have a son together.
