British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing, has visited the library of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, at his palace.
Ms Laing led a delegation of the Nigeria office of the UK Department for International Development to Kano on Tuesday.
In a tweet, the high commissioner expressed amazement at the library, wondering if Sanusi had read all the books in it.
“Admiring the incredible library of His Highness, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II at his Palace. He has acquired an incredible collection of books on Islamic Law, Economics and African History Has he really read them all? There are many more upstairs! @masarautarkano #UKinKano,” she said.
Laing and her team were hosted to dinner by Sanusi at his palace.
The envoy thanked Sanusi for hosting them, saying “We enjoyed very much.”
Laing, on Wednesday, visited a school in Kano pioneering integration of Qur’anic learning with traditional curriculum.
