Singer Kizz Daniel has bragged that his hit song ‘Buga’ is the continent’s anthem.
The hitmaker said this on the social media platform X on Wednesday while reacting to Vice President Kashim Shettima’s statement that ‘Buga’ is almost becoming the country’s second national anthem.
Speaking in an interview with Arise TV, Shettima whose ‘Buga’ dance video went viral last year, explained that he joined the challenge because Nigeria needs to showcase its arts and culture to the world.
He said the government has a vision called “Nigeria Destination 2030″ and remains committed to promoting arts and culture for the actualization of the grand vision.
Responding, Kizz Daniel thanked Shettima for his statement, adding that Buga is a world anthem.
He wrote: “Actually, It is the continent’s anthem. Thank you Vice President Kashim Shettima.”

‘Buga’ which currently has over 100 million views on YouTube since its release in May 2022 has caught the attention of both young and older demographics and it has also enjoyed domestic and international acceptance.
‘Buga’ was also listed as the number one song in the 2022 Google search by Nigerians.
