President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed immediate past National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muiz Banire (SAN), as the chairman of Assets Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON).
This appointment was contained in a letter sent to the Senate by President Buhari, which was read by Senate President Bukola Saraki on Tuesday.
Banire, a former commissioner for transportation under former Governor Bola Tinubu of Lagos fell out with his erstwhile godfather during the run-up to the local government election in the state last year.
He also fell out with incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and other high ranking members of APC in Lagos.
Ambode, Tinubu and others joined forces to ensure Banire did not return as APC legal adviser.
