President Muhammadu Buhari received boos on Wednesday from Maiduguri residents when he arrived at the capital of Borno State on a visit over the recent killing of 30 travellers by Boko Haram insurgents.
The residents lined up on both sides of the road along the airport way, shouting in Hausa, ‘Ba ma so’ which means ‘We don’t want.’
President Buhari headed straight for Maiduguri on arrival in Nigeria from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where he attended the 33rd Ordinary Session of Presidents and Governments of the African Union.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Garba Shehu, Buhari commiserated with family of victims of attacks in the state and assured them that his administration would bring Boko Haram to an end.
“The commitment of this administration to protect the lives of Nigerians will not be derailed by the cowardly and indiscriminate violence against innocent people by Boko Haram terrorists,’’ he said.
