President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated former Ekiti State Governor, Niyi Adebayo, ahead of his 60th birthday coming up on for February 4.
A statement issued by his Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, in Abuja on Saturday, felicitated with the family and friends of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain.
Buhari, in the statement, affirmed that Adebayo, who served as Governor of Ekiti State from 1999-2003, worked committedly to improve the livelihood of his people.
The President commended the many sacrifices Adebayo made in ensuring the formation of the APC, by always projecting ideas, and suggesting the construction of a political institution with strong national appeal, acceptance and sympathy for the improvement of the lives of all Nigerians.
According to him, Adebayo’s brilliance, diligence, forthrightness and strong sense of patriotism will always be desired for the development of the nation.
The President prayed that the Almighty God would grant Adebayo longer life, more wisdom and greater opportunities to serve the nation and humanity.
A Law graduate from the University of Lagos, Adebayo is the son of late former Governor of the Western Region of Nigeria, Gen Adeyinka Adebayo, who died in Lagos on March 8, 2017, a day to his 89th birthday.
