President Muhammadu Buhari has departed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia en route Abuja after performing Umrah also known as lesser Hajj.
Buhari has been in Saudi Arabia since May 16 after accepting the invitation of the king of Saudi Arabia and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, to visit the country.
New media aide to the president, Bashir Ahmad, announced the President’s departure from King Abdul’aziz International Airport, Jeddah in a tweet on Tuesday.
“After performing Umrah (Lesser Hajj) in Makkah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, President @MBuhari left Royal Terminal of the King Abdul’aziz International Airport, Jeddah for Abuja. – at Royal Terminal,” he said.
Buhari and his wife, Aisha, last Friday observed Umrah at the Masjid Haram (the Grand Mosque) in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
