Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, on Wednesday rejected media reports suggesting that President Muhammadu Buhari was ill.
This follows Buhari’s absence at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, which some reports say is related to his alleged poor state of health.
Mohammed, while briefing newsmen at the end of the FEC meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, said the President was hale and hearty and that his absence at the FEC meeting was because he was engaged in other state functions.
“Mr President is not ill again,” Mohammed said in reference to Buhari’s recent extended medical vacation in London.
“Mr. President is in town; Mr. President is attending to other issues. He looked at the agenda for the meeting and decided that the vice president should preside. It is not unusual for the vice president to preside over FEC meetings”.
