The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari on Monday sent his first tweet from his official Twitter handle, since winning the mandate of his party.
“This is the official account of Muhammadu Buhari, Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress,” his Twitter profile reads.
In his first tweet, the candidate confirmed that “this will now be my official Twitter handle to communicate with you.”
His second tweet thanked his supporters and volunteers and all who have supported his campaign and have spread his messages through different handles.
He signs off his messages as GMB.
Just like President Goodluck Jonathan did in the build up to the 2011 presidential elections, Buhari is reaching out to social media enthusiasts, especially the youths, through different online platforms.
His social media handles on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Youtube are @thisisbuhari. His official URL is www.thisisbuhari.com.
He achieved over 12,000 followers on Twitter in less than six hours.
Check my qed.ng revealed that the figure had reached 23,000 at the end of Monday.
The account was yet to be verified by Twitter at the time of filing this report.
