President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday arrived his hometown of Daura in Katsina State ahead of the governorship and state assembly elections scheduled for Saturday, March 9.
Buhari landed at the Daura Helipad in a Presidential Chopper marked NAF-541 at 6:50 p.m. in company with his aides and close family members.
He was received by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Farouk Umar, his kinsmen, and hundreds of well-wishers.
The president’s wife, Aisha Buhari, on Thursday hosted a victory dinner for women and youth organisations in Daura.
Speaking at the dinner, Mrs Buhari commended women and youths for supporting her husband’s re-election, and described them as the vanguard of positive change and transformation.
She promised to continue to support women and youth in empowerment programmes, health issues and education.
