President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday met with the 344 rescued students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara in Katsina State.
The schoolboys were rescued on Thursday night in Zamfara.
A tweet by the Presidency confirmed Buhari met the schoolboys. It did not give further information.
Buhari had held back from visiting the school where the students were kidnapped despite public outcry.
However, at a press conference on Friday, Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed said Buhari coordinated rescue efforts from his hometown Daura.
“Yes, the president did not visit the town but he was busy coordinating the entire operation to ensure the safe return of the students within the fastest time possible,” he said.
