Debo Adesina

President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated editor-in-chief of The Guardian, Debo Adesina, as a non-career ambassador.

Mr. Adesina’s name and 41 others were sent to the Senate for confirmation on Wednesday.

An indigene of Oyo State, Adesina has served The Guardian for more than 20 years.

He submitted a letter of resignation in March and has been on leave from the media organisation since June 4.

Former politics editor of ThisDay, Oma Djebah, representing Delta State, is also on the list of Buhari’s ambassadorial nominees.

So are former minister of state for Interior, Ademola Seriki (Lagos), and Dare Sunday-Awoniyi (Kogi), among others.
