President Muhammadu Buhari will on Saturday morning depart Nigeria for the inauguration of Ghana President-elect, Nana Akufo-Addo.
The Nigerian leader will join others from around the world to see President John Mahama hand over the reins of power to 72-year-old Akufo-Addo and his Vice President–elect, Mahamudu Bawumia.
Buhari had congratulated Ghanaians on the peaceful elections and orderly transfer of power from an incumbent to an opposition candidate.
He also commended Mahama for his maturity and statesmanship.
Buhari is expected to return to Abuja at the end of the ceremony on Saturday.
