If the President could be described as inactive on the microblogging platform in the days leading to his election, he completely lost interest after his victory.
His last tweet was a May Day greeting to Nigerian workers on May 2, 2011.
By contrast, Buhari had sent 396 as at Tuesday afternoon. His personal tweets are signed GMB.
Jonathan never indicated if any of the tweets credited to him were written by him.
The APC candidate’s account was recently verified while Jonathan is yet to join that elite club.
It is a different story however on Facebook, the most popular social media website in the world.
While Jonathan’s verified account had 1,753,119 likes as at Tuesday afternoon, Buhari’s unverified had 5,024.
Jonathan however started four years ahead of Buhari.
Both men are still active on that platform.
