President Muhammadu Buhari has resumed work after a 14-day vacation in London, saying it is “good to be back at work”
Buhari returned to Nigeria on Sunday with a declaration at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, that he was stronger and more energetic.
Speaking to journalists on his arrival, he jokingly challenged one of them who asked him about his state of health to a wrestling competition.
“You have seen me, you saw me when I was going, you can do the assessment by yourself.
“You can see me inspecting the guards of honour, if you want to wrestle me, you can do so, but you know I’m taller than you,” the President told the reporter.
The President flew to London on June 6 to see an ear, nose and throat specialist after two doctors in Nigeria recommended further evaluation “as a precaution”, his team said.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who was acting President in Buhari’s absence, met with the 73-year-old upon his resumption at the office on Monday.
