President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday returned to Nigeria a day after celebrating his 80th birthday in the United States of America.
The president departed Daura, Katsina State for Washington on Sunday, December 11 to join other African leaders at the United States-Africa Leaders’ Summit.
He met with US President Joe Biden and participated in a series of high-level events as part of the summit.
Buhari also celebrated his birthday in the US with members of the diplomatic corps and other senior officials who travelled with him.
Nigeria’s ambassador to the Us Dr Uzoma Emenike presented a portrait on behalf of other ambassadors.
The crew of the presidential jet who flew him back to Nigeria also celebrated with him.
Buhari was received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Sunday morning by governors, security chiefs and other senior officials.
