Aso Rock on Monday announced the sacking of 26 heads of Federal Government agencies in a move designed to flush out appointees of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Among those whose sack were announced in a statement signed by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engr. Babachir Lawal, were six heads of agencies in the Ministry of Information and Culture whose disengagement were announced earlier in the day by their supervising minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
The statement by Lawal reads:
- The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate disengagement of the following Chief Executive Officers of the underlisted Parastatals, Agencies and Commissions.
2.He has also approved that the most senior officers in the Parastatals, Agencies and Councils oversee the activities of the organizations pending the appointment of substantive Chief Executive Officers.
