President Muhammadu Buhari will on Sunday night address the country in a live broadcast.
Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, stated this in a statement on Sunday, saying the president would go live at 7 pm.
“Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast,” the statement said.
Although it did not say what the broadcast would be centred on, the president has come under criticism for not addressing citizens on the ravaging coronavirus.
There are currently 97 cases of the virus in the country, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
