President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday arrived in Lagos to inaugurate the multi-billion dollars Dangote Fertiliser Plant at Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.
The plant, which was built at a cost of $2.5 billion, has the capacity to produce three million metric tonnes (mt) of urea yearly.
The project is also expected to add well over $400 million in foreign exchange to the Nigerian economy from exportation of the products to other African countries.
Buhari will also tour the Lekki Deep Seaport and the Dangote refinery and petrochemical plant, located within the free trade zone.
The president is also expected to inaugurate the new international terminal at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja.
The new terminal will enable the airport deal with 14 million passengers each year.
Buhari’s last visit to Lagos was on December 9, 2021, to commission some projects of the Nigerian Navy.
Ahead of the president’s visit, Lagos State Government had diverted traffic and arranged alternative routes in the nation’s former capital.
