Actress Bukky Wright is making a comeback to Nollywood after spending over 15 years in the diaspora.
The 57-year-old announced her return to the Nigerian film industry, expressing excitement about taking on significant roles and beginning a new chapter in her career.
Speaking about her return, Bukky reflected on her experience working on the set of Something About the Briggs, directed by Bukola Ogunsola.
She expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying, “It felt really good. It actually gave me the opportunity to see all these people again. I haven’t seen them in years.”
Despite her long hiatus, Bukky views acting as a natural talent she has always possessed.
“If it’s inbuilt, then it’s inbuilt. Nothing can take it away from you,” she said, adding that even when taking on minor roles, her passion and skill remain unwavering.
Her role in Something About the Briggs, set for release on January 31, showcases her talent.
Bukky has also revealed plans to stay in Nigeria to focus on her acting career.
“I’ll stay. I’m going to do more movies in Nigeria here during my stay. I have more projects coming, and I’m here to stay,” she affirmed.
Since her debut in 1996, Bukky Wright has graced the screen with performances in classics like Saworoide (1999), Iyore (2014) and When Love Happens (2014).
