Filmmaker Bukola Ogunsola has released the official trailer for her latest project, Something About the Briggs, set to hit cinemas on January 31, 2025.
Known for her successful films Happy Father’s Day and Another Father’s Day, Ogunsola shared the trailer on Instagram on Friday.
She described the film as an emotional journey through love, family and marriage.
“THE OFFICIAL TRAILER OF SOMETHING ABOUT THE BRIGGS IS HERE! Are you ready to laugh, cry, and be entertained all at once? Then mark your calendars. The 31st of January is about to be a wild ride through the emotional roller coaster that is Love, Family, and Marriage in our new film. Get seated, grab your popcorn 🍿 and a drink!” she wrote.
This marks Ogunsola’s first time taking on the roles of writer, producer, and director in a single project. However, she is no newcomer to filmmaking.
Since her debut in 2015 with the screenplay The Perfect Plan for Africa Magic, Ogunsola has written, directed and produced several works, including Another Father’s Day, which had a nationwide cinema release in 2019 and is now available on Amazon Prime.
Ogunsola also highlighted her production team, featuring Chuchu Kobi-Ajulu as Director of Photography, Bisola Omolade as Art Director, Uvi Jaydar as Assistant Director, Duke Oluwadamilare as Production Manager, Yolande Okereke as Costume Designer and Temitope Alamode as Makeup Artist.
The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Daniel Etim Effiong, Ariyike Dimples, Norbert Young, Gloria Young, Rita Dominic, Iyabo Ojo, Bukky Wright, Stan Nze, Kenneth Okolie, Kalu Ikeagwu, Linda Ejiofor, Kanaga Jnr, Elma Mbadiwe, Simi Drey, Tubosun Aiyedehin, Zack Orji and Liz Benson-Ameye.
