Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has made a special shout-out to Afrobeat sensations Burna Boy, Davido, Ayra Starr, Asake, Tems, and Olamide following their nominations at the 66th Grammys.
The Nigerian contingents failed to win from 10 nominations across five categories at the awards ceremony on Sunday in Los Angeles, California, United States.
Mr Sanwo-Olu, who is in China to improve the state’s transport system, wrote in an Instagram post on Monday that although Burna Boy and other Nigerians lost at the Grammys, they will always be winners in the eyes of Nigerians.
“A special shoutout to @burnaboy, @davido, @ayrastarr, @asakemusik, @temsbaby and all Nigerian talents represented as nominees at the Grammy’s, the apex music award in the world,” he wrote.
