Grammy-winning singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has reacted mockingly to socialite Sophia Egbueje’s claims that he failed to fulfill his promise after allegedly spending the night with her.
In a leaked audio conversation that surfaced online late Thursday, Sophia accused Burna Boy of having a one-night stand with her and reneging on his pledge to buy her a Lamborghini.
Reports suggest that Sophia and influencer Ama Reginald allegedly clashed over the City Boy crooner.
In the audio, Sophia expressed disappointment in Ama, whom she accused of betrayal. She alleged that Ama had encouraged her to take Burna Boy seriously, only for Ama to later be seen with the singer and his rumored new girlfriend, American singer Chloe Bailey.
According to Sophia, she gave Burna Boy a chance because of his promise to buy her an expensive Lamborghini truck and other luxury gifts. However, when he failed to deliver, she claimed she blocked him and purchased the car herself. She also expected Ama and her boyfriend Manny, Burna’s personal assistant, to intervene on her behalf.
Recounting her experience, Sophia said: “She is like, ‘Babe, you should take him seriously. You know it’s him that bought Stefflon Don Cullinan. He actually spends money on girls. Just try and take him seriously.’”
She added that after confiding in Ama about buying a fancy watch, she was surprised to discover Burna Boy had given Chloe Bailey a similar one. “I bought my watch and knew the person that bought my watch. I don’t know if she went to tell Manny because I’m wondering why Burna bought Chloe a watch when I bought my watch,” she lamented.
The leaked audio sparked mixed reactions on social media, with many questioning Sophia’s expectations from the singer.
Responding in a freestyle video shared via his Instagram story on Friday, Burna Boy threw shade at Sophia for making a fuss over the issue.
“No do no do, no do no do. If you no get me, forget about it. I no buy Lambo, is that why you are shouting? Where dem dey? I no dey see dem at all,” he sang.
His response has further fueled discussions online, with fans divided over the controversy.
