Burna Boy please forgive Speed Darlington, Bobrisky urges singer

Controversial crossdresser Okuneye Idris, widely known as Bobrisky, has appealed to Grammy-winning artiste Burna Boy to forgive fellow entertainer Speed Darlington and facilitate his release from prison.

Taking to his Instagram Story on Sunday, Bobrisky expressed concern for Speed Darlington’s welfare, emphasising that 45 days behind bars should be enough punishment.

“I just want to mind my business this year and stay away from Nigerian celebrities, but my soft heart won’t let me ignore certain issues,” Bobrisky wrote.

“Please, Burna Boy, forgive Speed. Prison is not a nice place. I doubt he can afford the VIP section because it’s expensive.”

Bobrisky lamented that despite using his platform to support others, those individuals never returned the favor during his own challenges.

He added, “Our hearts are different. I can’t stand seeing people suffer. I pray, Burna, please release him. Forty-five days is enough punishment.”

The social media personality also criticised fans for enabling Speed Darlington’s controversial behavior, urging followers to hold celebrities accountable.

“Fans, learn to tell your favorites the truth when they cross the line. You all cheered Speed on when he said unpleasant things, but now none of you is in prison with him,” he noted.

Speed Darlington was first arrested in Lagos in October 2024 over allegations of defamation and cyberstalking Burna Boy.

He was later transferred to Abuja and detained by the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team in Guzape.

Though initially released, Speed Darlington was re-arrested in November while performing at a show in Owerri, Imo State, shortly after returning to Nigeria.
