Grammy-Award-winning singer Burna Boy has revealed why American singer Toni Braxton gets 60 percent of the royalties from his single ‘Last Last’.
In a recent episode of the Million Dollar Worth of Game podcast, the 31-year-old revealed that he had always wanted to sample Toni Braxton’s 2000 R&B hit, ‘He Wasn’t Man Enough’ and he eventually got music producer Chopsticks to make it happen.
The Afrofusion star further revealed that although Toni Braxton gets 60% of the royalties from the single, he was fine with it as his only concern was making a great song.
Speaking further, Burna Boy said he just wanted to use that sample and he knew Chopstix could do something crazy with it.
He said, “It was actually my idea, to be honest. I just wanted to use that sample and I knew Chopstix could do something crazy with it. I just pointed that shit out and he took it from there. That’s one of the most creative processes ever.
“But she is taking 60 percent of the shit. I’m not complaining. Hopefully, she even comes out to one of the shows”.
