Group CEO of Oceangate Oil and Gas Engineering Aisha Achimugu has secured a historic multimillion dollar deal with Global Petroleum Group to launch one of the Caribbean’s largest oil and gas ventures.
The businesswoman announced this on social media over the weekend, stating that the partnership aims to develop Grenada’s significant hydrocarbon reserves and pave the way for the island nation to emerge as a major energy hub in the Caribbean and beyond.
She said it will also foster job creation, infrastructure development, and technology transfer within the local economy.
“We are thrilled to enter this partnership with Global Petroleum Group, which will bring substantial economic benefits and energy resources to Grenada,” said Achimugu.
“This venture underscores Oceangate’s commitment to investing in sustainable energy solutions that drive economic prosperity while respecting environmental standards. We believe this project will lay the foundation for future economic collaborations between Africa and the Caribbean.”
Born on January 22, 1974, Achimigu attended Federal Government Girls Science School, Kuje, Abuja and got a bachelor’s degree in accountancy in 1998 at the University of Jos.
She is also the managing director/CEO of Felak Concept Group which began as an engineering firm and has diversified into maritime, consultancy, and environmental waste management among others.
