Canada comes to aid of sisters detained for blackmailing Otedola

Global Affairs Canada, a Canadian government department that manages the country’s diplomatic relations, has confirmed that it is providing consular services to sisters, Jyoti and Kiran Matharoo, detained for blackmailing Forte Oil Chairman, Femi Otedola, the Toronto Star has reported.

The Matharoo sisters are Canadian citizens but Indians by birth.

They were arraigned before a Yaba Magistrate’s Court on Friday, December 21 for cyberbullying over 274 people across Africa with their gossip blog, naijagistlive.com.

The police went after them after they claimed to have evidence of Otedola cheating on his wife, which they threatened to post on their infamous sex-scandal website, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Beyond blackmail and cyberbullying, the sisters, noted for showing off on Instagram, are believed to provide escort services for wealthy Nigerian men.
