Watford striker, Odion Ighalo, says he “cannot promise” goals when the Super Eagles face Egypt on Friday in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Ighalo, 26, has been in blistering form for the Hornets thus far – scoring 16 goals in his debut season in the Barclays Premier League.
But a large chunk of the goal was scored last year – with the striker finding the net just once in the league and thrice in all competitions in 2016.
And Ighalo who has not scored in his last three competitive games for the Super Eagles want Nigerians not to rely on goals from him against the Pharaohs.
“I cannot promise that I will score goals on that day but I won’t shy away from it if it comes,” the former Granada man told CompleteSports.
“What matters is the win and it does not really matter who scores so long as we get the three points at stake here and go for the game of our lives in the return leg next week Tuesday in Alexandria.”
Egypt currently lead Group G with six points, with the Eagles two points behind.
