Super Eagles goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, staged a superb comeback from his latest injury setback to help Wolverhampton Wanderers win 2-0 at Nottingham Forest.
Ikeme, 30, for the second time in barely one month suffered a hip injury a fortnight ago when Wolves faced Queens Park Rangers in the English Championship.
The Nigerian was then ruled out of the clashes with Cardiff and Fulham which Paul Lambert’s side failed to win.
However, it was a clean sleet and another three points in the bag for Wolves on Saturday with Ikeme in goal.
The former Leicester City man has now managed to keep five clean sheets in 17 appearances for Wolves.
Ikeme got the nod ahead of 19-year-old understudy Harry Burgoyne, who dropped to the bench.
Goals in each half from Helder Costa and Ivan Cavaleiro secured what ended up being a comfortable win and one that was much needed for Lambert in his sixth game in charge.
The victory takes Wolves to 25 points from 22 games but still rooted to 18th on the log.
Lambert’s team will definitely be looking up to Ikeme in their quest to remain in the Championship with a tricky clash with Bristol City on Boxing Day.
