Rap artiste CDQ has questioned organisers of the 14th Headies awards over the award giving to Mayorkun at the expense of singer Naira Marley.
The 35-year-old said there was politics involved on Twitter on Sunday.
Mayorkun was awarded winner of Best Street Hop for his hit song ‘Geng’ over Naira Marley’s song ‘Mafo’.
“Headies una don start dis una obvious industry politics tins again… How d hell una go carry Best Street Hop give someone else at the expense of Naira dis yr and conscience no judge una hmmm,” CDQ wrote.
Others Mayorkun beat for the award include Olamide, Rudeboy and Reminisce.
The nominees for the awards were announced in December 2020, with Fireboy DML leading with nine nominations, while Burnaboy, Davido, Wizkid and Wurld followed with six nominations each.
