Nigerian champions, Plateau United, will certainly not be losing too much sleep about their 2018 CAF Champions League preliminary draw.
The Jos-based side were paired with debutants, Eding Sport, who are the reigning champions of Cameroon.
Eding’s progress has been a rather fairy tale one since its creation in 2012.
The draw, which took place at CAF headquarters in Cairo on Wednesday, also pitted MFM FC with Malian side, AS Bamako.
Fifty-nine (59) clubs were engaged for the draw and eight federations did not engage their clubs namely Cape Verde, Chad, Eritrea, Namibia, Reunion, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone and Somalia
Mamelodi Sundowns, Al Ahly, Wydad Casablanca and 2017 CAF Confederation Champions TP Mazembe were exempted from the preliminary rounds of the tournament.
The first legs will be contested from February 9-11 and the second legs will be played on February 16-18.
