Nigeria’s Super Eagles have qualified for the final of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) after defeating Sudan 1-0 on Wednesday.
Gabriel Okechukwu’s strike in the 16th minute was the decider.
Salisu Yusuf’s team were impressive in the opening stages but struggled to hold on to their lead.
Ifeanyi Ifeanyi received his marching orders for a second bookable offence in the 58 minute.
Nonetheless, the Nigerians still held on for a historic victory.
It is the first time the West African nation will reach this stage since the competition began in 2011.
The closest they’ve come was third-place four years ago in South Africa.
They will now square off against host Morocco in Saturday’s final.
