CHAN revelation, Chikatara, wishes to leave Abia Warriors for ‘big deal’

Super Eagles striker, Chisom Chikatara, has debunked reports that he has signed a deal with a foreign club but conceded he “will be glad if a big deal comes”.

The 21-year-old forward, who shone for Nigeria at the just concluded African Nations Champions (CHAN) in Rwanda, was speculated to have signed a deal with Moroccan side, Wydad Casablanca.

But Chikatara, who featured for Abia Warriors in the weekend away to Ikorodu FC, revealed that he is still tied to the Nnewi-based side, admitting he could jump at the offer to play abroad.

“So many things have been said about the Casablanca move but I want to tell you that I remain an Abia Warriors player for now and that is why you saw me play against Ikorodu United,” Chikatara told Complete Sports on Wednesday.

“For now, I can tell you that I have not signed any deal. My manager could have something planned for me which I can’t even say anything about for now.

“Playing for Abia Warriors in this game [vs. Ikorodu United] also means I am their player but I don’t know what will happen in future.

“I will be glad if a big deal comes as a player.”

Chikatara has represented Nigeria five times with equal number of goals and has notched a further 48 in 71 games for Abia Warriors.
