The remains of a Channels TV reporter, Precious Owolabi, who was killed on Monday during a protest by members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), will be laid to rest in Zaria, Kaduna State on Thursday, July 25.
The 23-year-old’s body was received by his parents on Wednesday after being sent by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) which he was a member of.
According to The Nation, a source close to the family said Owolabi would be buried Thursday.
His corpse has been moved to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) mortuary.
Director of Press and Public Relations of the NYSC, Adenike Adeyemi, had said the NYSC was saddened by the death of the corps member.
“We join the entire Owolabi family in this moment of grief and pray that the Almighty God console them and repose the soul of the departed,” Adeyemi said.
