Newspaper columnist and professor of mass communication Farooq Kperogi has added his voice to the rumour that broadcaster Seun Okinbaloye had been sacked by Channels TV.
Kperogi said in a Facebook post on Saturday morning that he spoke with Okinbaloye who confirmed the rumour was false and that he was in the US on vacation.
“Channel TV’s Seun Okinbaloye has NOT been fired, contrary to social media rumors doing the rounds,” he wrote.
“I communicated with him a few hours ago, and he said he is on vacation here in the United States and still very much in the employ of Channels TV.”
Kperogi quoted the broadcaster as saying “Prof, the whole story is fake news.”
Okinbaloye anchors Channels TV’s Politics Today show. Geoffrey Uzono has been holding the forth in his absence.
Also, convener of Revolution Now movement Omoyele Sowore shared pictures with Okinbaloye in Newark, New Jersey, United States on social media to dispel the rumour.
