Actor Charles Inojie has shared a picture of the Edo State Governor-elect, Monday Okpebholo kneeling before the All Progressives Congress’ leaders after emerging victorious at the gubernatorial election.
Charles took to Instagram on Monday to share the picture, praying that God gives the newly appointed governor the courage to be loyal to the “ordinary people of Edo state”.
He wrote, “Congratulations Mr. Governor-Elect. May God grant you the courage to be loyal to the ordinary people of Edo State.”
Recall that on Sunday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Monday Okpebholo winner of the Edo State governorship election.
Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, the returning officer and Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, announced that the APC candidate secured 291,667 votes, defeating his closest contender, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 247,274 votes.
Labour Party’s (LP) Olumide Akpata came third with 22,763 votes. The APC led 11 out of the state’s 18 local government areas, while the PDP won in seven.
