Movie producer, Charles Novia, on Friday named Stephanie Linus as his best actress in the outgoing year.
The 44-year-old gave Stephanie the honour for her role as Dr Zara in the film, Dry.
According to Novia, Stephanie’s “portrayal of Dr Zara in her self-directed movie had some flashes of brilliance and intensity which showed brilliance in interpretation and internalisation”.
The veteran further revealed what tilted the scale in favour of the new mother of one.
“What finally won it for me was the long scene where she gave a monologue in front of a large crowd at the National Assembly. She was sterling in that scene, a culmination of her character build-up and a great crescendo,” he revealed.
Second on Novia’s list is Ivie Okujaiye position for her role as a beguiled room service worker in Hotel Majestic.
Weruche Opia comes third for her role in When Love Happens, while Genevieve Nnaji, took the fourth position for playing Victoria Izu in her latest offering, Road To Yesterday.
Oge Okoye sits in the fifth position for her role in the popular Africa Magic TV series, Hotel Majestic.
